Research and Interviews
As with all our projects, we started by interviewing the stakeholders at Amazing Animals and experiencing the facility itself. We asked about their likes and dislikes and researched how wildlife preserves and zoos present themselves. Then, we built a mood board with examples of styles that exist in the industry in order to get the client talking about their brand.
Identity + Illustration
We gathered inspiration and developed a look that the team at Amazing Animals loved, and which had a zoo-inspired aesthetic that visitors would connect with. Starting with the corporate identity, we built the brand piece by piece.

Informational + Wayfinding Signage
After building the corporate identity and digital assets needed right away, we worked on large format print applications for Amazing Animals. Located in a rural area, the space needed signage that was easy to identify but small enough to blend in. Combined with digital assets deployed across social media, visitors would recognize the bold identity and colors at the entrance and know that they are in the right place.
We also created internal signage to guide visitors, including a photo-op wall and event stage banner, so that the look and feel inside Amazing Animals would match the online experience. As visitors walk through the Amazing Animals, everything now matches visually and thematically.
Events
Amazing Animals hosts several events onsite throughout the year, including their annual “Christmas in the Cloud” event, which draws large crowds during the Christmas season. We created new event signage for all their recurring events that matched the new Amazing Animals identity. Like the new signage, this helped create a sense of consistency and continuity for Amazing Animals visitors.
On one of our walkthroughs during this project, we noticed that Amazing Animals had an unbranded trailer which was often parked outside or in the parking lot. We recommended a complete vehicle wrap to use this as additional signage or advertising when at off-site events.
Offsite Displays
Amazing Animals also hosts off-site events from time. In a later project phase, we developed extensive event graphics and assets for Amazing Animals which helped further their brand. To this end, we created new illustrations for many of the animals at the preserve, and informational banners that Amazing Animals could take to events to help them bring the zoo experience with them on the road.
Merchandise
Although the primary purpose of this project was to create a cohesive brand experience for all Amazing Animals visitors, we also created some limited merchandise items for the existing onsite merch store. Amazing Animals had existing hot sauces based on some of their ambassador animals and we redesigned the labels to match the new brand, and we created two new brand tees featuring their ambassador animals.
